The Annual Palm Desert winter baseball tournament is taking place this coming weekend and it once again is absolutely loaded with talent.
The tournament will run from Tuesday, December 6th through Saturday, December 10th and will again be hosted by Palm Desert HS, La Quinta HS, Shadow Hills HS, Indio HS, Xavier HS, and College of the Desert.
This years version will host many of the top teams from Southern California along with some of the top collegiate and pro prospects from the area. The tournament has become an annual stop for professional scouts and this years should be no different as three of the top 100 high school prospects are expected to play. Garrett Mitchell (OLu), Jeremiah Estrada (Palm Desert), and Jayson Gonzalez (Bishop Amat) are all considered Top 100 prospects by most major publications that produce such rankings.
The tournament will also feature countless committed and uncommitted collegiate prospects as is annually the case. The event is widely considered the kickoff to the winter high school tournament season that runs up to the start of the spring season.
